DISCIPLINES

'The Embrace' — a bronze gesture scaled to both the body and the city, translating the Kings' clasped arms into a monument visitors walk into rather than look up at.

/// CHALLENGE

Boston sought a memorial honoring Dr. King and Coretta Scott King on the Common — a site already dense with civic memory. The risk was a monument that became backdrop rather than destination, legible only from a distance.

/// SOLUTION

Conceptualized 'The Embrace' as an interactive spatial gesture scaled to the body and the city, translating the Kings' clasped arms into a bronze form visitors walk into. Directed the creative narrative, interpretive strategy, and public engagement rollout.
